| Francis
Keating has spent several years traveling extensively throughout
the world. It was during his travels in Europe, Northern Africa,
Israel and Turkey that his passion for photography was truly
ignited. Whilst living in Hungary, he studied photography and
developed his skills and concepts greatly. Several of his photographs
from the course were exhibited at the famous Budapest Photography
Club; which is the oldest continuous photographic club in the
world. After |

is regarded as having the finest degree course in photography
in the Southern Hemisphere.
In April 1999 he held his first solo exhibition “The Spirit
of Black & White” at the X-Posure gallery in Brisbane.
Prior to coming to Taiwan one of his photographs was featured
on the cover of the May issue of the national magazine “Insight
”. In April 2001 he held an Exhibition called Deja Vu
in Taichung, Taiwan, which introduced photographic styles. He
studied the |
exhibited
at the prestigious McGregor prize for photography.
In December 2001/January 2002 he held his “Visions”
exhibition which traveled from Taichung to Taipei and showcased
some of his my most recent figure studies. In 2002/2003 he held
his third exhibition in Taiwan “The River” which
was a photo documentary of the rapidly changing Yangtze River
in China. His most recent exhibition “Revelations”
was held at the Stock20 Art Gallery in Taichung in |
In
2005 Francis has already shown a retrospective of his work “DECA”
from 1996 to 2005 at Mojo Café in May. In June he held
an exhibition “Tides” at the Capital Art Gallery
featuring the human form and its relationship to water. Francis
is presently doing freelance photographic work for various American
publications and is working on his next solo exhibition to be
held next year in Taipei.
