A naked woman holds the same mesmerizing appeal. All are aspects of nature: eternal, indefinable, and in Ulli Predeek's work we see his earnest attempts to characterize the inexpressible.

A young girl turning into a woman is a reminder of nature's abundance, of fertility, of our role to propagate and continue the species. Predeek, too, has a sense of the surreal as well as the sublime, his work showing juxtapositions in the mundane and erotic worlds that make us stop and think and that, surely, is the ultimate goal of the photographer.

Each decade is defined by the look captured through the camera lens; Bill Brandt's austerity; Bailey's glamour; the unrestrained decadence of Mapplethorpe.
